1. Overview
This Privacy Policy explains what information Declutter: Phone Cleaner App ("the App") accesses, how it is used, and your choices. Cleaner is built to do as much as possible on your device — most of what the App does (finding duplicate photos, screenshots, large videos, and duplicate contacts) never leaves your phone.
## 2. Information the App Accesses On-Device
With your permission, the App reads:
- **Photos and Videos** — to find duplicates, screenshots, and large videos you can compress. Scanning, hashing, and thumbnail generation all happen on-device using Apple's PhotoKit. Nothing from your photo library is uploaded to us or to any third party.
- **Contacts** — to find and help you merge duplicate entries. Contact data is read and written on-device via Apple's Contacts framework and is never transmitted off your device by the App.
- **Face ID / Touch ID** — used only to unlock the in-app Secret Vault. Biometric data itself is managed entirely by iOS and is never accessible to the App or to us.
- **Device storage statistics** — total/used/free space, read via standard iOS APIs to show you the storage overview on the Home screen.
You can review or revoke Photos and Contacts access at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security. If access is denied, the relevant tool simply shows an explanation instead of functioning — the App does not stop working.
3. Data Stored Locally on Your Device
- Your name (if you provide one during setup) and app preferences, stored via standard iOS local storage.
- Your Secret Vault PIN — stored only as a salted cryptographic hash in the iOS Keychain, never in plain text, never synced or transmitted anywhere.
- Photos/videos you choose to import into the Secret Vault — copied into the App's private, sandboxed storage on your device, excluded from iCloud/iTunes backup, and inaccessible to other apps.
None of the data in this section is transmitted to us or to any third party. Deleting the App deletes all of it.
4. Advertising
Free (non-subscribed) use of the App may include advertising served through Google AdMob. Premium subscribers do not see ads.
- AdMob may collect device and advertising identifiers (such as the iOS Advertising Identifier, IDFA, where you've allowed tracking), general device information, and ad interaction data to serve and measure ads.
- Where required by Apple's App Tracking Transparency framework, the App will ask for your permission before any tracking-enabled advertising identifier is used. If you decline, you may still see ads, but they will not be personalized based on cross-app tracking.
- In regions where required (for example, the EEA/UK), the App presents a consent flow (via Google's User Messaging Platform) before loading ads, and honors your choice about personalized vs. non-personalized advertising.
Google's own use of data collected through AdMob is governed by Google's Privacy Policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy
5. Subscriptions & Purchases
Premium subscriptions are processed entirely by Apple through StoreKit / the App Store. The App receives only your subscription status (active/inactive) from Apple — we do not receive or store your payment details, which Apple handles directly.
6. Analytics
The App does not integrate a separate analytics SDK. Google AdMob's own SDK may collect aggregate, non-identifying diagnostic and ad-performance data as part of serving ads — see Section 4.
7. Data We Do Not Collect
- We do not operate a server that receives your photos, videos, or contacts.
- We do not sell your personal information.
- We do not read your email or any other app's data — the App has no such access.
8. Data Retention & Deletion
Because the App's data lives on your device, you control retention directly: revoke Photos/Contacts access in iOS Settings at any time, delete individual Vault items from within the App, or delete the App entirely to remove all locally stored data, including the Vault and your Keychain-stored PIN hash.
9. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. Because almost all App data stays on your device, most of these rights are exercised directly through iOS Settings or by deleting the App. For anything involving Google AdMob's data collection, you can also manage ad personalization in your device's Settings → Privacy & Security → Apple Advertising, and Settings → [Advertising ID controls provided by Google].
10. Children's Privacy
The App is not directed at children under 13 (or the relevant age of digital consent in your region), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the App, contact us using the details below so we can address it.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
